Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery contains all parts of the diagnosis and surgical care of the mouth, jaws, skull, face, head and neck. Also, it will focus on structures and their construction. What we value in this specialty is providing a comprehensive and full surgical and diagnostic service that is performed multidisciplinary to our dental clients for certain areas, including the head and neck.
OMF is a surgical specialty demanding both medical and dental degrees. Also, all Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons must have a registrable dental qualification. Furthermore, some even see it as the bridge between medicine and dentistry. Also, it treats conditions that need expertise from both medical and dentistry backgrounds, such as head and neck cancers, facial disproportion and pain, salivary gland diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders, cysts and tumours of the jaws, impacted teeth, as well as numerous problems that affect the oral mucosa including mouth ulcers and infections.

Dr. Bohluli is internationally considered a leader in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has performed more than 4,000 major and several thousands minor oral and facial surgeries over his 20 year career. Dr. Bohluli is especially interested in managing complicated surgical cases, as he believes a successful comprehensive procedure can be indispensable in achieving the patient’s goals. In addition to his busy clinical practice, he is actively involved in academia and scientific research. He has frequently lectured in international meetings, and his scientific efforts have led to 44 publications in major surgical journals and 40 book chapters commonly referenced in this field. He also serves as a reviewer in many high ranking surgery journals and has recently edited and co-edited three major textbooks in this field. Dr. Bohluli has had the opportunity to teach at the University of Toronto over the past seven years. This has allowed him to become accustomed to North American perspectives with regard to surgical concepts. Moreover, he has the honor of being certified by three prestigious North American boards: the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Canadian Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
